Jose Vazquez (they/them) is a strategist and public artist who helps mission-driven organizations reach the right audiences and tell stories that move people to action. At Philanthropy Together, Jose supports efforts to grow the collective giving movement by elevating the stories and communities behind them.

For more than a decade, Jose has led communications and marketing campaigns for organizations including the ACLU, the Equal Justice Initiative, Monument Lab, and Common Sense Media. Their work has earned three Webby Awards for best social impact campaigns in the United States.

Jose cares deeply about LGBTQ+ rights advocacy in the U.S South and opened an LGBTQ+ community center in Montgomery, Alabama. As a public artist, they currently create participatory “anti-monuments” that invite communities to reflect on memory, power, and the stories we choose to carry forward.
