Standing up in solidarity

We are devastated by the brutal murder of George Floyd and we recognize and share the pain the Black community continues to face each and every day. Having been forced to witness this senseless act of violence, compounded with the recent murders of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, it is clear how much work our society has to do to end systemic inequalities. We stand in solidarity with the Black community and share their grief. We feel outraged over the discrimination and injustices communities of color continuously endure. And we recognize that now, more than ever, we need to stand up and take action to create a more equitable and just society. We can no longer ignore the fact that racism, discrimination, and violence has seriously hindered forward movement within our society. In the days and weeks ahead, Philanthropy Together will respond with purpose and intention, and will work to do our part to change our broken system. We now call on our brothers and sisters in philanthropy to do the same.
