Water is a Women’s Empowerment Issue Webinar
Around the world, women and girls face disproportionate challenges when it comes to accessing water. In many communities, the daily responsibility of fetching water falls on their shoulders, often requiring long, dangerous walks that not only limit their time for education and economic opportunities but also expose them to risks of violence. In Sub-Saharan Africa, this burden is particularly severe, where water scarcity affects millions of women and children.
In our upcoming webinar, Water is a Women’s Empowerment Issue, we will discuss how Together Women Rise is partnering with Save the Rain to transform lives in Tanzania by addressing the critical issue of water access. Kelly Coleman, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Save the Rain, will share the organization’s work to empower women and girls through sustainable water solutions.
Save the Rain’s Women’s Water Initiative provides communities with rainwater harvesting systems, enabling women to save hours each day by eliminating the need to walk long distances for water. This project not only improves health and education outcomes but also enhances economic opportunities for women.
Join Together Women Rise on Thursday, March 6, at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT for this enlightening discussion. Kelly will explain how an innovative approach is creating lasting change, one rainwater tank at a time, and how this work is empowering women to become agents of social transformation.
This event is free, but registration is required. All are welcome!
