Collective givers everywhere — it’s time to celebrate!
We Give Summit is the collective giving movement’s loudest and proudest event each year, bringing together hundreds of giving circle members and supporters to learn, celebrate, and grow together. 2022’s agenda offers more than 15 individual workshops, keynote presentations, panel discussions, and networking sessions designed to inspire and elevate this growing movement.
Here are five of the top reasons you should join the second annual We Give Summit from May 11-14, 2022:
1. Connect with the larger collective giving movement.
If there’s one thing we know about the collective giving movement, it’s that we put our community first. We Give Summit is the best chance each year to gather with individuals with shared values from around the world: together, hundreds of attendees from the 2,400+ giving circles globally will have the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate – in other words, to be on the cutting edge of social impact, and do it together! You’ll forge meaningful connections, not just between colleagues and prospective partners, but with new friends who have the potential to transform our giving – and our lives.
We Give Summit 2022 is also a chance to expand your network. Historically, We Give Summit has fostered connections between giving circle members, community leaders, philanthropy experts, and social impact newcomers alike. Whether you’re just getting started in the world of collective giving, or you’ve been a circle expert for years, We Give Summit is the perfect place for those critical conversations surrounding the health and growth of our movement.
2. Deepen relationships with your existing giving circle community.
What’s more, We Give Summit presents opportunities for communities within the larger movement to connect. This year, we have sessions and workshops focused on LGBTQ+, AAPI, Black, and Latinx communities, just to name a few.
For those giving circles who are part of a network, you can attend our special Network Block sessions: reserved time for circle network members to be in community with one another. Networks hosting sessions include Amplifier, Community Investment Network, Philanos, and Social Venture Partners International.
3. Help transform the giving circle movement.
At We Give Summit, we tackle challenges collectively. You want to do something in your community, but you don’t know how? You want to move your giving circle forward and maximize its impact, but you’re not sure how to grow? At We Give Summit, we’re able to go at these big problems with others – and find solutions we never would have thought of on our own.
This year’s theme, Forward Together, celebrates innovation and growth in collective giving as we navigate a changing landscape and reimagine our futures. How can we break down barriers to propel the growing collective giving movement forward? How do we embrace new tools, ideas, and methods? And what learnings from the past year can we carry with us into the future?
We Give Summit 2022 is our chance to get in on the critical conversations that form the backbone of our movement, and to explore these questions and more.
4. Learn from philanthropy powerhouses.
And when we say “powerhouses”, we mean powerhouses! 2022’s keynote speakers include PolicyLink’s Angela Glover Blackwell, Echoing Green’s Cheryl Dorsey, and nonprofit leader and advocate Vu Le.
This year’s We Give Summit focuses on shifts in the giving circle world, as well as ways to expand equity and leadership for circle members and leaders of all backgrounds. With the giving circle movement continuing to grow, it’s vital to learn from those who have proven this model works: we’ve invited more than 60 top-notch changemakers to share their thoughts and insights to helps others transform how they give..
Our session leaders will discuss everything from inspiring structural change to preventing nonprofit burnout. You’ll hear research findings from organizations like Class Action, Latino Community Foundation, and Bank of America with the critical findings that will impact collective giving in 2022 and beyond. And if you don’t have time to make a full session, you can watch recordings 48 hours after the Summit AND also check out our pre-recorded Lightning Talks: 15-minute mini-sessions accessible anytime and anywhere during the Summit.
We Give Summit 2022 concludes with a pop-up giving circle on Saturday, May 14, an interactive giving experience that condenses all the connection, conversation, and fun of a circle into just 90 minutes. You don’t want to miss it!
5. Celebrate!
Last but certainly not least, it’s time to party! We Give Summit is our annual opportunity to celebrate everything we love and treasure about the collective giving movement. In between learning sessions, we’ll gather for fun events like cooking demonstrations, musical performances, and speed networking.
To ensure everyone can join, all We Give Summit sessions are free, but you can still support. Donations of $50 or more will receive a swag box in the mail (while supplies last!). If you’re able to offer support at a higher level, you’ll help cover the cost for a fellow attendee!
We see so many incredible campaigns, inspiring stories, and breathtaking partnerships form throughout this movement each year. It’s critical to take the time to celebrate the good in our world: the giving circle movement is stronger than ever, and it’s only growing larger.
We Give Summit kicks off online on Wednesday, May 11. We hope you’ll join us for this year’s schedule of events. To learn more about We Give Summit and register, visit WeGiveSummit.org. We can’t wait to see you in May!
